Ciara Hendrick: Singing Teacher

Challenging, creative and rewarding lessons with a highly experienced teacher and singer. Lessons are catered to the individual student, be that a beginner, an experienced singer wishing to hone their skills or a young professional wanting to apply for scholarships or music colleges. Ciara is passionate about teaching and helping others to find their voice, develop their technique and reach their potential.

Lessons

Lessons are focused on technique, musicianship and performance, with an emphasis on classical and musical theatre repertoire. For those students wanting to take exams, Ciara follows the ABRSM and Trinity Music exam syllabi and accompanies her students whenever possible.

For more experienced singers, as a full time professional singer, working with the best orchestras, choirs and consorts in the UK, Ciara has first hand experience of what a career in singing demands and is able to offer guidance on how to proceed in the music industry. Lessons are typically 30 minutes for beginners and 45 or 60 minutes for more experienced singers.

Testimonials

  • Samaira has been having singing lessons with Ciara for four years, since she was 7 years old. We have seen her make significant progress in this time, not just in terms of moving through the grades but also in her understanding of the intricacies of singing, improving her breathing and tone. Ciara’s attention to detail and her constant advice to Samaira, recognising her strengths and weaknesses, has shown brilliant results in exam performance as well. It has also led Samaira to expand her performance repertoire, being a member of several ensembles at school and outside. Above all, Samaira has developed a true love of singing in this time.

  • Ciara’s teaching ticks all the boxes. Her explanations of technique are clear and have deepened my understanding of how the voice works. She is wonderfully warm and encouraging, and has boosted my confidence in going for more ambitious solos. Unlike a lot of singing teachers, she also has lots of choral experience. This means she understands how choir rehearsals can push singers into bad habits, and has given me countless tips and strategies for maintaining good technique. She also has the most beautiful voice to give some extra inspiration!
